The Cross River State Government has responded to recent reports concerning the condition and activities of the Obubra Local Government Council, describing some of the claims as inaccurate.

The response followed reports circulating publicly about the state of the council, including allegations concerning cleanliness and the general condition of the council premises.

The Commissioner for Local Government Affairs, Chief Victor-Felix Idem, said the government looked into the reports and found them to be unfounded. According to the commissioner, the findings from the investigation did not support some of the claims being circulated about the council.

The government has therefore urged members of the public to exercise caution when sharing information, particularly reports that have not been independently verified.

For the Obubra people, accurate information about the activities and condition of their local government council remains important, especially when unverified reports could affect public perception of the area.
